WHAT IS COP22?
Remember when COP21 Paris was all over the news last year? Maybe you were following it closely throughout, or maybe you had no idea what it was for.
Well, COP22 is quickly approaching, and it will be the 22nd Session of the Conference of Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change. Did I lose you there?
Basically, it’s a Climate Change Conference, and it will follow up on the joint agenda made collaboratively by key leaders at COP21 Paris.
Let me reiterate something. It was a HUGE deal that our world’s top leaders agreed on one single climate change agenda. So during COP22, we will (hopefully) see them work to transform this agenda into action.
While talking about our global crises is necessary for raising public awareness, we won’t go anywhere if it’s just all talk.
That’s why COP22 is SO, so important. Countries are finally going to implement each of their own action plans. How exciting is that!? Being a health-nut and eco-geek, I’m already dancing on the inside knowing that we’re finally going to take responsibility for the detrimental impacts of our actions. We’re finally going to come together to protect our people and our planet.
So join me in following COP22 Marrakech Climate Change Conference from November 7 – 18, 2016.
It is an event that concerns the welfare of every human being, animal species, and plant species on our planet, and it’s an event that’s going to make history.
